Universal Management Definitions
IMSIG has defined a universal set of management definitions which are mutually consistent enabling clear and unambiguous communication across disciplines and organisational silos. The definitions also form part of MSS 1000.
Obligation to report, explain and be answerable for lack of performance and breaches of authority and responsibility or duties. See also authority, responsibility, delegation and MSS 1000 section E.2.4.3 Appointment.
NOTE 1: Being held accountable might result in disciplinary or other punitive action.
NOTE 2: Accountability closes the management control loop such that review and action results if an individual fails to perform or violates the management system, contracts, legislation or other defined requirements. See also MSS 1000 sections E.2.4.8 Discipline and E.2.5.3 Management of conflict.
